History
During the Soviet period, in line with the ideological guidelines of the time, citizens were introduced to the latest achievements in science, industry and agriculture at the Exhibitions of National Economy Achievements (VDNKh). Within this concept, the VDNKh of the Kazakh SSR was established in the autumn of 1955.
In 1959, a decision was made to build the VDNKh KazSSR exhibition complex. A 100-hectare plot of land was allocated for the project. The exhibition officially opened to visitors in June 1961.
Prominent leaders and specialists of the national economic complex took part in the formation and development of the VDNKh of the Kazakh SSR, including K. I. Satpayev, A. M. Vartanyan, M. A. Bitny. The project was led by Bayan Kuttyzhuly Dzhumashev from its founding.

Atakent IBC
The Kazakhstan Business Cooperation Center "Atakent" was established on the basis of the property complex of the former VDNKh of the Kazakh SSR by Resolution No. 688 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 17, 1992.
Atakent IBC JSC has significant economic, exhibition-fair and infrastructure potential. Over the years, a large-scale reconstruction of the pavilions, buildings and engineering infrastructure of the complex has been carried out.
Thanks to the development of its facilities and the formation of a team of highly qualified specialists, Atakent has become one of the largest international exhibition centers in Central Asia and the CIS.
More than 50–60 major national and international exhibitions are held annually on the territory of the complex, with the participation of over 8,000 foreign companies and firms.

Organization of international, national and themed exhibitions and fairs of enterprises and organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, both domestically and abroad.
